Ask.com brings mobile platform Android devices Q&A

As we have heard in the past year, Ask surrendered its search operations of its competitors and refocused on building out its Q&A platform. This seems to have paid off a few — the company saw more than 1 million downloads of its iPhone app. mobile devices, in particular, was an area of growth for Q&A platform with 100 per cent increase in visits to the Ask.com from smartphones for the last year (10 per cent of mobile is the total usage). Today, Ask.com brings its Q&A platform for Android devices.

Ask said that Android app now available in Android market and Amazon AppStore for Android. Includes all features of its iPhone application, including the voice to text functionality to get Web results, as well as the top voted published answers from other users of Ask.com. You can also send your question to the real user and activate push notifications alert you when a new reply.

One Android specific features is the ability to filter Q&A on topics that match your profile. You can follow users give interesting responses and personalize your experience Q&A content from these compounds.

Ask said that iPhones are currently about 55 per cent of Ask.com Mobile Smartphone traffic, while Android is about 40 per cent. Android traffic Ask.com soared 60 percent this year, so the Android app makes sense.
