Last year's popular live video platform Ustream launched called Ustream live mobilizes the proposed brands, celebrities, and bands, custom iPhone application which featured Ustream live steaming capabilities of the platform for developing mobile applications. But today, Ustream ends live mobilizes and announces partnership with mobile Roadie, which allows anyone to design and create a smooth, rich media iPhone and Android applications.
Mobile Roadie Ustream will work with broadcasters to create mobile applications that showcase their Ustream live channels, as well as a number of other free features. For example, Mobile Roadie Ustream apps will send push messages automatically when broadcaster goes live, will allow visitors to "check in" stream and share Facebook and Twitter, will collect real-time analytics and location data on living threads broadcaster and will allow users to communicate with one another as they view the live stream.
Broadcasters will also be able to monetize the app and may charge a one time or monthly fee for users to their content on Ustream. Mobile Roadie said that existing clients using the Live Ustream will have the opportunity to go Mobilizer to the new platform.
Outsourcing mobile application development for mobile Roadie makes a lot of sense for Ustream, which can focus on what they do best — live streaming. Mobile Roadie has become the defacto platform for developing mobile applications for a number of high-profile brands and celebrities with their platform, including Taylor Swift (see example integration Ustream in this post), Madonna, live nation, Levi 's, twilight and Vera Wang.
