The world's largest mobile carrier, China Mobile, currently does not support or sell the iPhone. This may change, though. Reuters reports that the carrier had held a meeting with Steve Jobs himself regarding the launch of the iPhone to China Mobile, the world's largest wireless carrier.
Clearly there is a demand. Apparently China Mobile, despite not selling myself, phone 7.44 million iPhones registered on their network. This is of course this is done by unauthorized, but shows that China Mobile users will go out of their way to get an iPhone on the network.
One obstacle was that China Mobile works on other 3 G standard, developed in part by the Chinese Government. This network of TD-SCDMA incompatible with two variations, Radio 3 G in the iPhone. These submarines China Mobile by using jailbroken iPhone only have access to slower legacy 2 G EDGE network, proving the popularity of the iPhone.
China Unicom is currently the only carrier in China officially support the iPhone, but China Mobile offers immense possibilities for Apple. Both carriers owned and operated, but China Unicom works on traditional wireless standards, only 180 million users on their network. China Mobile, but reaches 97% of the population of China and has more than 600 million subscribers. (ATT and Verizon combined have subtitles only 230 million in the United States)
From fake Apple stores to the millions of 2 G iPhones, the Chinese people clearly want the latest Apple can offer — and Apple will not likely to turn down the cash.
Started by Steve jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, Apple has expanded from computers to consumer electronics over the past 30 years, officially change their name from Apple Computer.
