comScore: Android continues to Mumble up Smartphone share, currently 40 per cent

When it comes to smartphones in the United States, Android and Apple growing at the expense of other mobile platforms like rim, Windows Mobile and Nokia Symbian.   The latest mobile subscriber numbers are out of from comScore.  Android is a package with 40 per cent market share of Smartphone subscribers with the United States June 2011, 5.4 of March 2011.

Android also gap compared to Apple, which ended the period with 26.6% of the shares.  But Apple is 1.1 per cent since March, while RIM (23.4%), Microsoft (5.8%) and Symbian (2.0%) all lost.

Apple's share didn't budge compared to May 2011, but Android has got 2 points in share for only one month.  It definitely shows momentum, according to this DataSet.  Expect this trend to continue until the new iPhone comes out, possibly in September.   Create your hands, if you wait it out before you buy your next phone.
