Times they are a changin'. Magazines fall at the feet of their digital replacement, while printed books feels records from affordable, portable reading device. And yet, we still seem to cling to one category of the associated application (if only for the sake of nostalgia for): children's book. But for how long?
iStoryTime, the Publisher, which publishes "books" (in the form of interactive app) exclusively for mobile devices, just closed a $ 2 million.
While iStoryTime is a company that most young iPad-toting crowd likely haven't heard about, people with a bed-time story of age very well could have: they've got a publishing deal for a handful of huge license as transformers, Kung Fu Panda and the Smurfs, with this last property, earning the # 1 spot in the children's book iOS App Store for the past few weeks.
In such a way that they plan to do with the money? More books, in several places. They will focus on expanding their library (which is currently about 100 names), and then work on making them available for additional devices (now almost exclusively iOS with only a few names on Android.)
