Although angry birds tend to get all the credit for that game that is endlessly belongs to the App Store, it's not only up to the top. ZeptoLab's Cut The Rope was the first match to come along and (temporarily) knocking birds out of their # 1 spot back in October 2010, and in the months after, he rarely spent any time in the top ten.

With a license to continue has been effective in cash machine (I mean come on: they now have cut the rope Plush Dolls and comic books) cut the rope go to the next logical step: the sequel.

We have been hearing that a second cut rope game was in the works, so we asked the folks behind the original. They reaffirmed that the future is on the way — in fact, he was scheduled to start later this week. If all goes as planned, he must hit the App Store on 4 August.

They also sent for an exclusive teaser trailer (see below), and although he doesn't show much in terms of gameplay, spill the beans on name: cut the rope: experiments. ZeptoLab is still is pretty light on details, but summarizes follow-up activities as:

"What on Earth is Om Nom?! Here's what millions of fans commonly known games, cut the rope, ask about a cute little monster that eats candy as his work! The same question is mad (but not bad) a scientist who studies a little creature that mysteriously came outside their homes ".

Any cut rope addicts (which they call you guys? Scissors? this cannot be correct.) there just dying for this?

(Updated: simply interestingly — from what we hear, ZeptoLab self-publishing this one original cut rope ZeptoLab was built and published by Chillingo, but it looks like Chillingo was carved out of the equation at this time.)

Here's all the media, which they shared with us:
